Tour Details:

Departs from the Greenock Cruise Terminal at 10am.
Returns at 12.30am approximately.
Bring waterproof clothing and walking shoes. (The Tattoo is an outdoor event, and seating is uncovered. Scottish evenings can be chilly, even in summer, so we strongly recommend wearing warm, layered clothing and bringing a waterproof jacket).

Itinerary:

We will meet and greet at the Greenock Cruise Terminal at 10am and make our way to Stirling Castle. Stirling Castle is one of Scotland’s most historic sites and was home to the Stewart kings and queens throughout the centuries. Highlights include the Great Hall, Chapel Royal, Castle Exhibition, Regimental Museum, Great Kitchens, Tapestry Studio, and the Queen’s Palace, which your guide will be happy to take you through. You can also enjoy lunch at the Unicorn Café, which offers a range of hot and cold drinks and food.

These are the tallest pair of equine sculptures in the world and reflect the mythological transforming beasts that possessed the strength and endurance of 10 horses. Andrew Scott that designed the monuments followed the history of the heavy horse of industry and economy, pulling the wagons and ploughs, barges and coal ships that shaped the structural layout of the local area. We will take a short walk through the park and enjoy the beauty of the Kelpies up close.

Stroll through the historic Grassmarket, once the site of markets and public gatherings, and soak up the lively atmosphere, charming shops, and stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. From here your guide will walk you to the castle where the The Royal Edinburgh Tattoo will take place. Please be aware that vehicles are not allowed to drive in this area.
